My Story

Our Team - Sue’s Beads

I will be walking the Moonwalk with friends Fiona & Tracy, in loving memory of our very special friend, Sue.  Sue was a lover of all jewellery, and the four of us, along with our husbands and another couple, have been part of a group called ‘The BEAD’s’ (The Burgess Hill Eating And Drinking Society!) for many years, hence the name of our team – Sue’s Beads!  As a group we might go away for weekends, go out for dinner, or meet up for fun evenings of games, plus drink and food, of course!  Sadly, Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer some years ago, and following treatment, was cancer free until December 2021.  Despite further treatment, Sue lost her battle with the disease, and tragically passed away in May 2022.  We want to honour Sue by Walking the Walk and raising money to help prevent others from going through similar battles, and also raising awareness of the work that Walk the Walk do.

We would love it if you would sponsor us, by clicking the Donate button, so that you can be with us in spirit on our journey through London on May 20th.  Every penny will help.  Thank you, in anticipation.
